The sustainable collection of performance data from database systems for flexible and extensive evaluations through snapshots and reports are available from commercial database manufacturers and a essential and a popular feature for several DBAs. There is also a suitable solution for PostgreSQL with the extension PG_PROFILE. This talk describes the requirements and basic setup of PG_PROFILE and shows with examples and practical experiences how this can be used for proceeding performance analytics.
