A tour of PostgreSQL recovery targets: you've got the backup and have to restore it but don't know how to do it?
Point-in-time recovery in the PostgreSQL world is pretty easy to achieve nowadays with all the great tools provided by the community.
While the backup steps are pretty clear, it's not always that easy to perform a successful recovery.
After a quick explanation about the PostgreSQL recovery process, we'll explore the various targets available and what happens when those targets are reached.
With some basic examples, we'll then cover a few common mistakes and frequently asked questions.
