A little about our speaker
Thomas Guillemard Inrap
Thomas Guillemard has been an archaeologist at Inrap (the French National Institute for Preventive Archaeological Research) for 15 years. This scientific field produces a lot of data, so early on he became interested in relational and spatial databases. As an internal trainer and reference person for his colleagues, he initially developed databases on his own, self-taught, and then within a collective of geeks called RAMEN, working on systems based on relational databases (SQLite / PostgreSQL and their spatial extensions). By developing tools, this collective aims to help archaeologists in their digital daily tasks. Thomas's credo is "rigor and method," and for him, the world of databases is a true Animus, where each query reveals well-kept secrets.
