This training will prepare you to benchmark database systems, and how to characterize database system performance from operating system and database statistics using open source software. The topics covered include:

• Introduction to the tools for
• Infrastructure provisioning (Terraform)
• Software deployment and setup (Ansible)
• Benchmarking (DBT-2, a fair-use TPC Benchmark(TM) C implementation)
• Hand-on tasks:
• Provision infrastructure resources (VirtualBox)
• Deploying and configuring software
• Execute the benchmark to perform various tasks
• Reviewing operating system and database statistics
