PostgreSQL 9.5 brings a number of interesting performance improvements, and performance-related features - improved sorting performance, hashjoin improvements, lock scalability, removal of unnecessary references by optimizer, etc. This talk aims to overview the main improvements, including some benchmark results to illustrate the the gains.
We'll also briefly talk about what we believe will happen in the near future - what performance-related features we're working on, and what we see happening in the community.
