Time: 11:20–12:05
Room: Ballsaal 3

When people talk about open source operating systems, they mostly talk about Linux. What is lesser known is, that there are several open source flavors of the original BSD, such as FreeBSD, OpenBSD and NetBSD. In this talk we'll look at what FreeBSD has to offer when it comes to running PostgreSQL. We'll cover installation, configuration and operations, but we'll also look at what FreeBSD has to offer when it comes to containerized workloads. By the end of this talk you should have a solid understanding about the key differences between Linux and FreeBSD, and should feel confident in doing your first steps on this rock solid platform.
