No one likes to lose data. That's why synchronous replication should be the default choice for any production system. However many are not turning it on for fear of how this affects availability and performance. In this talk I will introduce the quorum replication mode from Patroni 4 and how it helps to ensure stable p99 latencies even with unreliable systems.
